Resilience and care in urgent times with Jo McAndrews
Monday 9th June, 8.15 - 9.30pm

As part of The Great Big Green Week Mothers CAN is teaming up with Jo McAndrews, who will be speaking on the theme of care and wellbeing in the context of the climate crisis.
Jo McAndrews trained as a psychotherapist and through her work with children has realised that the best way to help young people is to educate and support the adults around them. Her work now focuses on understanding how children grow with resilience and what gets in the way of that. Jo is very alive to the environmental crisis we are living through and sees care and wellbeing as critical to achieving the systems change we so badly need.
Jo says, “I support climate activists and educators to bring more care and resilience to our movements. This is radical work and requires us to get away from the idea of care and wellbeing as self-indulgent comfort, and recognise it as a form of activism in itself. The same systems that have caused the climate and social crises have separated us from our basic human needs. I believe we need to reclaim these for ourselves and our children in order to contribute to long lasting system change.”
