Our network of mums are taking all types of action across the UK. At Mothers CAN we never tell members of our Network what to do. Instead we support them to take the action that works for them in their local context.

Fiona - Head of Inclusive Support - Oxford Brookes
Fiona and her Buckingham Mothers CAN group have most recently run a campaign for Clean Air Day 2024 and continue to work with the schools on active travel initiatives. They are working with children in the Eco Council at a local school and run a Climate Cafe.

Polly - An Engagement Consultant
Polly and her Leigh-on-Sea Mothers CAN group created a new beer to raise awareness of seagrass, with 10% of profits going to the Essex Wildlife Trust.

Sara - Specialty Registrar in clinical oncology
Sara and her Cambridge Mothers CAN group have worked on a variety of climate issues. Sara also spoke out at in her local Council Chamber.

Catherine - Clinical Scientist
Catherine worked with other parents and school staff to run a Cycle to School week and launch a weekly Bike Bus.

Fiona
The Edinburgh Mothers CAN group successfully lobbied the City of Edinburgh Council to ban high carbon advertising on buildings and in public spaces they own. The group also designed and led the Protect Our Future project, over 6,000 children wrote personal climate messages to Scotland’s politicians.

Carrie - Architect and business owner
Carrie has done Door Knocking with Greenpeace, and sparked conversations with customers of her architectural practice by arriving by bike and talking over a dairy-free hot drink. She has marshalled Greenpeace anti fossil fuel marches, and lobbied MPs, the PM and key secretaries of state with her daughter to support the Climate and Nature Bill. She has protested against a gravel quarry between her children’s two schools.
