Meet the team

Mothers CAN is almost entirely volunteer-run, with our strategy and decisions being made by our mother-powered community. The network is supported by Co-Directors Lindsay & Sophie, and Mary our Operations Manager.

Lindsay joined Mothers CAN three years ago as a volunteer group co-ordinator as she wanted to make a difference in her local community.

 

She has since done community organising training and works as Senior Circular Economy Officer at Essex County Council.

Sophie set up Mothers CAN with a small group of climate-concerned mums in 2021. 

 

She is a trained organiser, activist and campaigner, and has worked within the climate movement since 2018.

Mary is a freelance consultant working across the environmental, heritage and third sectors to support positive change for people and planet.

She works part-time to support the network and is a mum of two.

​Polly is part of Mothers CAN to ease her anxiety through action in her seaside community, drawing on the strength of the Mothers CAN network and raising two little citizens of the world along the way.

Alice is an engagement consultant who works with local authorities on school street programmes and improving road safety around schools.

 

A mum of two, she supported the social media campaign and engagement strategy during 2024/25.

Louise is a digital marketing and social media executive who works in the third sector. She is a mum to three girls and a Labrador called Dougal.
 
Her journey with Mothers CAN started in 2025 when she completed the Anxiety to Action Course. She supported Mothers CAN's social media strategy & content creation in 2025/26.

Jess is a communications specialist in the non-profit and sustainability sectors, championing communications for social impact.

After taking part in Mothers CAN's Anxiety to Action course, she's now passionate about the power of communities and rallies her local connections in between the school and nursery runs. Jess supports Mothers CAN with their Communications Strategy.
